VILLAHERMOSA, Mexico
--
A Mexican federal agent says police have rescued 115 Central American migrants who were hidden in a cage inside a sweltering cargo truck.
Federal agent Pedro Arteaga says the migrants hid in a cage in the back of a sweltering cargo truck also carrying snacks.
He says federal police at a roadblock near the Guatemalan border discovered the migrants on Monday after they screamed for help.
Arteaga says the migrants were dehydrated and that the truck's two drivers were arrested.
Many Central American migrants travel across Mexico in dangerous conditions en route to the United States. Mexico's National Migration Institute says that more than 120,000 were detained in 2007.
