MISSOURI CITY, Texas --

A police officer was injured during a traffic stop on Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Missouri City police said an officer stopped a driver in the Hunters Glen subdivision area at about 1 p.m.

The driver refused to show the officer his identification, police said.

Investigators said the officer and driver got into a fight and the driver tried to get away.

The officer suffered a knee injury and bruises to his arms.

The driver was taken into custody. Police have not released his name, what he was originally stopped on suspicion of or what charges he may face.
