A Dayton police officer who allegedly shot himself and made false claims about the shooting was issued a $1 million bond.

Donald Fink pleaded not guilty to six felonies, including theft in office and making false alarms. Investigators said Fink lied about shooting himself with a gun that was allegedly stolen from department’s property room last month.

His family members said they hope to get him home soon.

Fink’s attorney said it will take several days to get the paper work moving to get his bond reduced.
